About: Dr Wyness Gondwe is a lecturer in Adult Health Nursing at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences-School of Nursing (KUHeS-SON). Since 2009, Dr. Gondwe has assumed several leadership positions including being a clinical coordinator, Deputy Head and Head of Clinical department and Deputy Head of Medical and Surgical Nursing Department at the former Kamuzu College of Nursing (currently known as KUHes-SON) from 2004 to 2016. In 2011, Dr Gondwe developed two short courses on Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and Trauma nursing one for health care providers and the other community which are still running to date. In 2011. And as a lecturer, her classroom and clinical teaching responsibilities, have largely focused on Acute Medical and Surgical conditions and Emergency and Critical Care. On several occasions, she has also been a resource/lead person and facilitator of several local and national seminars/workshops in emergency care including the Emergency Triage Assessment and Treatment (ETAT), High Dependency, Obstetric and Trauma Management courses (HOT), Basic and advanced life support for both the health care workers as well as for the community. She has also participated in development/reviews of generic and post basic curricula. Dr Wyness Gondwe is a lecturer in Adult Health Nursing at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences-School of Nursing (KUHeS-SON). Since 2009, Dr. Gondwe assumed the positions of clinical coordinator, Deputy Head and Head of department at the university between 2004 and 2016. She has also participated in development/reviews of generic and post basic curricula. Since 2011, Dr. Gondwe has served on one regional editorial board as section Editor for Case reports and an international Journal as a reviewer. She has authored two publications, co-authored two publications and co-authored one book chapter. Her major research interests include Acute/Emergency care, ICU transition of care, family centred care and psychosocial care.
